Jingle Bells
So here’s the thing. After a run of unfortunate events, we’ve been absolutely rubbish at playing gigs lately. To make up for it, I am happy to say that we have a few over the festive period that are GOOD. And we will be GOOD…maybe.

OFFIT.
Just a quick one. It appears that we’re not playing the Idlewild gig next week anymore because the venue “have JUST found out that Idlewild have a tour support and therefore wont be time for Gullich to play”. It’s borderline funny, but, there you have it. Apologies if you were expecting us to be there.
Manchester on Thursday. Retro Bar. Get on it arrr kid.

Disaster!
Because of reasons well beyond their control, The Snowfall Report have had to unfortunately pull out of the gig on Friday. We’re trying to sort out an equally booyah replacement. Will let you know when and if this is going to happen asap. Soz like.
Press Gang.
Henry Pay for the Piano has been busy getting important people with opinions to write about our record. Thanks Henry. When we discover they exist I’ve been copying all of them into our ‘read’ page, whether good, bad or ugly. Apparently there are some nice words about us in Big Cheese this month and there will be a review in Rock Sound. Booyah.

We have the CDs back from pressing and we are massive happy with everything about them. Henry is really busy working until next week, but he has assured us that when he is less busy the CD will be put on his online shop and all that. I think we agreed that it’ll be £5 inc p&p, but I’ll put all the information in the world up on here as soon as we know the details. TA TA for now X

Good News Bad News Mad News
Hiyer. Here is a news sandwich. 1. Got a phone call today. The album is off getting pressed and will be back by next week hopefully. Absolutely buzzing as. 2. As we’re being ignored by whoever is putting the gig on, we can only assume that we are not playing Leeds in June now. In the unlikely event that anyone was specifically planning on coming to see us, sorry. Never mind eh! 3....

Much better!
Myspace has let me dislike it even more by apparently not letting people download songs in the new player. Rubbish. All is not lost…There is now a lastfm for Gullich, in which you can preview all of the songs from the album, listen in full to one and download Where the Ducks Sleep. Hurray! www.last.fm/music/Gullich/Gullich/

My head is in bits so I’ll try keep it short and to the point. Everything is done and we are really happy with how it has gone and is going. You can download one of our songs for absolutely NOWT and you can listen to another one. We’ll be changing the ‘listen only’ song every few weeks so if you would like to hear more then you should pop back every now and again....

This and that...and that.
Few quick things that are hugely important: 1. Our CD will be on sale at the gig with Dartz on March 21st. Shhhhhh. It is also Graham’s birthday that day, so make it party central please. 2. The artwork and mixing are literally hours off completion - artwork preview, tracklist and mp3s soon! 3. Recording cello (!!!) tomorrow. Excited as! 4. I think there will be a little piece on here soon...

The Dr Browns House Band
Dale Nixon
Today, Jamie wrote a song for Graham, we did an obsticle course at Castle Eden Walkway, drank loads of tea and got even more tired than yesterday. In between all that we almost finished recording the vocals for this record. Lovely times.
Trains, trains and more trains.
Today it took Graham about 4 hours and 3 trains to get to pratice; good job we weren’t rubbish. In a nutshell… We have a free gig this Saturday (10th) in Middlesbrough, we have a not-so-free gig in Newcastle on Monday 16th. We are booked to record vocals for this CD, which is taking far longer than it will sound like it has! Either way, I almost promise that at least some of it will be...

Gullich make it happen
Last week we FINALLY got round to recording. We spent two days in Jamie’s kitchen, aided by Henry ‘The Rock Button’ Carden (thanks!) and played 8 of our songs live. So far so good. We are recording the vocals when Graham is back from looking at Lightening Bolt in Barcelona. Then Christmas cake and port. Then back to making rock history. Hopefully Nico Taylor (Just About Done/Move...

WANTED: Amulets
Here is a photo from the White Rooms: And here is what The Evening Gazette made of us at Dr. Brown’s on Sunday: “…GULLICH hammered out a set of obscure oddball pop, or “prog”, as a friend at the bar put it. Still good, though.” In other news, my soundcard is broken again, which may delay recording further. I need a horseshoe. Cheeriozza.X
The meaning of Gullich
Last night with Dartz was a massive bag of fun. Nico Taylor, the sudo fourth member of Dartz is easily the koolest kid in rock music. The best bit of the night, though, was when someone said about us afterwards: “If you were any more prog, you’d have a fucking flugel horn” I think we can safely say that we have now reached the dizzy heights that we once dreamt of. Thanks Nathan....

Date: Sunday 14th September, 2008. Time: 7:30pm . Location: Doctor Browns, Middlesbrough. Because I’m in a hurry to go and make rock history, these are the words of Henry Carden (Dartz): Hola. Dartz and Gullich are playing upstairs at Doctor Browns in Middlesbrough this Sunday. It’s a short notice affair, apologies for that. We (dartz) just fancied having a little pressure-free gig...
Ambiguous Gullich
So we are playing a gig in Middlesbrough on Sunday night. It’ll be £1 in, unless you would like to pay more. We won’t be able to tell you where it is or anything like that until Saturday or Sunday. It’s not a secret and The Arctic Monkeys won’t make a surprise appearance (although Nico Taylor might) but it will probably be fun, on a scale of one to fun. We’ll let you...

Mega Bastard Gullich
Hungover as. However the sun is shining, I had a nice bike ride and I have the pleasure of working at the bank holiday karaoke in Northallerton to look forward to. Boss. Best news of the weekend is that I got my soundcard replaced (at a pleasantly reasonable price) which means that recording will happen after our next rehearsal. The last time we got together a new song happened and it was very...
Despondent Gullich
I’ve come to expect that lately, if I take at least half a step forward then I can expect to take a fair few backwards. On Monday I set up for a recording session and discovered that my soundcard was broken. Good and proper! It is currently in the hands of The Man - who I expect to take around £200 from me. All of this heartache means that the recording of our CD this weekend has been...

Lazy Gullich
Hello! Welcome to our blog- a bit of a lazy man’s excuse of a website nowadays (and we are no exception). We are Gullich, formed from the rubble of a few different bands in the North East of England in June 2008. We have had two gigs to date and we are hoping to record asap, which will probably be throughout the first half of August. Our nice friend Henry (www.payforthepiano.co.uk) is going...

Gullich are:
Graham Thompson (vocals and bass) Simon Whelan (guitar and a bit of vocals) Jamie Wilkinson (drums)
You may know or remember us from outfits like Alsatian, Jinn, Grimification, Ask My Cat, The New Lev Yashin, Kubichek!…to name a few. Over the last year we have tried hard to practice as much as possible, which is sometimes very tricky due to geographical, work and football...
